Whether you are looking to rent out your home to a guest for extra money, or are looking for a way around those perpetually crowded and outrageously expensive hotels, Airbnb has quickly become the go-to entity for temporary housing. Airbnb aims to provide a simple, clean and affordable way for hosts who want to rent out space and for guests who are looking for space to rent across the world. Whether you are renting an Airbnb for a weekend trip to Manhattan, need housing for your internship in San Francisco, or are visiting Austin for South By Southwest Music Festival, the ideal temporary home must check off all the basic essentials and commodities for daily living. Airbnb currently has over 4.5 million homes across 81,000 cities.
What is Airbnb Plus?
What about the renters who want to indulging in a luxurious stay in a beautiful city across the world? Instead of scouring for an appropriate deal on a 5-star hotel, Airbnb has released their Airbnb Plus program. By targeting high-end homes in the Plus program, Airbnb is marketing boutique luxurious experiences for renters who want an exquisite experience. Over 2,000 and counting Airbnb Plus homes are being rented out in 14 cities such as Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London and Rome!
An important thing to note: Airbnb Plus is an additional service to the traditional temporary housing that Airbnb offers. Only a select few homes are approved through the rigorous application process to become an Airbnb Plus Superhost.
Airbnb Plus hosts offer Superhost-level hospitality. They’re rated above a 4.8+, reliable with zero cancellations, and committed to creating an experience instead of just providing a place to stay. Every home comes with a lockbox, keypad or on-call host for seamless check in. In addition to the elegant experience, Airbnb is offering Plus customer service for all Airbnb Plus renters.
Considering Airbnb Plus requires a set of strict requirements, Airbnb Plus homes will cost on average more than Airbnb homes. Airbnb home listings cost on average around $100/night, whereas the Airbnb Plus homes will cost around $250/night.

To Infinity and Beyond with Airbnb
As part of the overall push to higher-end accommodations, Airbnb will introduce a luxury tier that is more expensive than Airbnb Plus, called Airbnb Beyond. The company plans to launch the tier in the spring, using the expertise and resources gained by its acquisition of Luxury Retreats last year. Airbnb Beyond will include “custom-designed trips of a lifetime” at the “world’s finest homes, custom experiences, and world-class hospitality.”
